SYSCO Brands and Quality Assurance
Did you know that the number one brand of extended life frying oil is a SYSCO Brand, called SYSCO Supreme Fry-on. This product represents a tremendous selection of products featured under the many SYSCO brands that we offer to our discriminating customers. When SYSCO was started in 1971 it recognized that there were few food service brands that offered the quality and assurance required by Chefs and other food service professionals. SYSCO also recognized that it needed to do more than just put a private label on the same product available from the national supplier. To address the needs of the food service professional , SYSCO needed to offer products with specifications superior to many of the national brands or USDA grades.
SYSCO hired food scientists and other experts to develop those specifications and brands that would guarantee superior quality. That was just the first step. SYSCO realized, to ensure the quality promised is the quality delivered, they needed to inspect and verify the quality. SYSCO uses the services of over 100 trained Quality Assurance professionals to ensure the products under the SYSCO brands meet the specifications required. SYSCO QA’s watchcry became, “you can only expect what you inspect”.
SYSCO currently offers multiple brands, but the basics still apply:
- SYSCO Supreme offers products and quality virtually unique to the industry.
- SYSCO Imperial offers products superior in quality and only from the finest growing areas.
- SYSCO Classic offers products that are the same as or better than USDA Grades and represent an excellent value.
