Menu Change Results In A 25% Sales Increase! In July of 2006 Victor & Juan Rodriguez took over the Restaurant that has been in their family since 1957. The brothers knew they wanted to build upon what their father had started. That was great food, excellent service, and strong customer and vendor relationships. When they re-opened the restaurant six months ago the guest check average was at $10.00. Victor knew that this needed to increase. Through their Marketing Associate, they met with SYSCO Sacramento’s Business Development Department to review their menu. During the meeting some simple menu changes were suggested for their existing menu. Victor made the changes and the check average went up by $2.50. A 25% increase! Since then, Focus Marketing has done a new menu design and his servers have been trained on selling from the new menu. Sales and profits continue to grow. The Rodriguez brothers now see SYSCO not only as a company that delivers products but as a strong partner in their growth.

Minimum Wage Law creates profit worries. Jessica Ramos, the owner and Luther Escobar, the General Manager needed to develop a plan to keep or grow their profits in anticipation of the new wage increase. Competition Coming and Profits are Down. Roberto Reyes, the owner of Los Mariachis, in Red Bluff, expressed some concerns during a recent business review with SYSCO. His sales were good but profits were down and there were both an Applebee’s and Del Taco opening nearby. He asked SYSCO for help. SYSCO’s Business Review Manager made several suggestions. We have to be consistent to be successful, therefore our supplier has to be consistent and SYSCO is.
